Michael Jay Murphy

Michael Jay Murphy, 75, of Dawson, GA passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Parrott City Cemetery. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate.

Born in Albany, GA, Mr. Murphy had resided in Dawson, GA a number of years. He was a retired manager having ben employed with Dougherty County Public works for thirty eight years. He was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Alvin Murphy and Kathryn Ellis Murphy and a sister, Kathryn A. Murphy.

Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Murphy, Dawson, GA and Sue Holmes (James), Newton, GA, nephew, James D. Holmes and two great-nephews, J .D. Holmes and Evin Holmes.
