Michael Eugene James

Michael Eugene James, 71, of Lee County, GA passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at his residence.

 

Born in Hopkinsville, KY, Mr. James was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Air Force and was retired from MCLB.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his guitar, tinkering in the garage and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrol Eugene James, Corrine Bull Spurlin, Richard Melvin Spurlin and his sister, Pamela Wilson.

 

Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Sandy Hill James, Lee County, GA, daughter, Lacy James Eichenberger and her husband Scott, Gwinnett County, GA, grandchildren, Alexis Eichenberger and Leah Eichenberger, sisters, Julie  Thompson and her husband Steve, Tifton, GA, Rene’ Elkins, Baker County, GA, brothers, Gus Spurlin and his wife Dianna, Baconton, GA, Jim Spurlin and his wife Kathy, Mustang, OK, many sister-in-law’s, brother-in-law’s, nieces, nephews and a cousin.

 

Private services will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery with military honors.
