Mearl "Buddy" Jasper Burnfin, Jr.

Mearl "Buddy" Jasper Burnfin, Jr., 69, of Georgetown, Georgia, passed away at his residence on Monday, June 22, 2026. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Mathews Funeral Home at 12 Noon. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

Born in Albany, Georgia, Buddy was the son of the late Mearl Jasper Burnfin, Sr. and Ruby Burnfin. He spent much of his life in Southwest Georgia and moved to Georgetown in 2023. 

Survivors include his sister, Renee Burnfin Fraser (Craig) of Dublin, Georgia; sister, Janice Post (Michael) of Georgetown, Georgia; and brother, Stephen Burnfin (Sharon) of Albany, Georgia. He is also survived by his aunt, Earlene Garcia of Albany, Georgia; uncles, Tommy Burnfin and Ronnie Burnfin, both of Holden, Missouri; aunt, Charlotte Burnfin of Atlanta, Georgia; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home.
