Mary Richardson Jackson

The funeral service of Mary Richardson Jackson, 84, of Leesburg, GA who died Tuesday May 31, 2011 at her residence will be conducted Friday June 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Smithville United Methodist Church. Rev. Jan Conner will officiate. Interment will follow in the Smithville City Cemetery, Smithville, GA

A native of Macon, GA, Mrs. Jackson had resided in Lee County, GA since 1938. She was a retired postal clerk with the US Postal Service, a member of the Dixie Wheeler's Square Dance Club, a member of the Nathaniel Macon Chapter of the DAR and the Smithville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Warren Jonathan Richardson, Sr. and Thomas Jordan Jackson and a brother, John Broome.

Survivors include a son, Warren (Jon) Richardson, Jr., Smithville, GA, three daughters, Jimmie Goode, (Lynn), Lilburn, GA, Winnie R. Beamon (Buddy) and Denise Bell both of Leesburg, GA, three step-sons, Thomas Jackson, (Mary) Smithville, GA, Boyd Jackson, (Darlene) Dawson, GA, Danny Jackson, (Judy) Gainesville, GA, two step-daughters, Sandy Avera, (Henry) Edison, GA, Vickie Gillis, (Larry) Leesburg, GA, three brothers, James Broome, (Trudy) Tallahassee, FL, Emory Broome, Eufaula, AL, William Broome, (Catherine) Silverdale, WA, two half- brothers, Don Broome, (Barbara) Leesburg, GA and Thom Broome, Kanai, AK, twenty four grandchildren and thirty nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.
