Mary V. Faison

Mary Virginia Faison, 94, of Lee County, GA, died October 12, 2025 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at 3:00 PM at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie, GA. Pastor David Postlewaite will officiate.

Mrs. Faison was born June 6, 1931 in Colquitt County to the late Herman and Mary Hagin. She graduated from Moultrie High School and after marrying moved around the United States and Canada as a military wife. She worked only a handful of temporary jobs as her main focus in life was being a homemaker and mom to her children. Affectionately known as Grandma, she was always keeping up with her great-grandchildren and their activities and enjoyed their visits. An avid Braves fan had her watching the repeats of games over and over.

Survivors include daughter, Charlotte Murphy (Jimmy); granddaughters, Angie Powell (Shane) all of Lee County and Michelle Reynolds of Fairfield, IO; grandsons Jamie Murphy (Kathy) of Smyrna, TN and Shane Faison of Duck, NC; seventeen great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law C. Harry Carr of Albany. Preceding her in death were her husband of 54 years, Charles A. Faison; son, Larry Stephen (Steve) Faison; three brothers, Herman Hagin Jr. (Jabo), Harris Hagin, and Larry Hagin; two sisters Betty Carr and Patricia (Pat) Preston; and one great-granddaughter.
