Mary Elizabeth Williams

Mary Elizabeth Williams, 92, of Leesburg, GA passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Leesburg Methodist Church. Rev. Lee Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Born in Circleville, Ohio, Pickaway Co., Mrs. Williams resided in Lee Co., GA most all of her life and was very active in the Greene Circle WMW and was a member of the Leesburg Methodist Church. She was very much involved with the food bank delivering baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chauncey Leasure and Dorothy Mae Payne Leasure, husband, Elbert Herschel Williams, Jr., siblings, Bonnie Ridenour, Esther Marie Newman and Edith Jean Hill.

Survivors include sons, Philip Wayne Hunt and David Hunt both of Leesburg, GA, step sons, Thomas Williams (Demi), Albany, GA, Edward H. (Eddie) Williams, Lynn Haven, FL, step-daughters, Elizabeth Adams, Albany, GA, Jennifer Karst, Leesburg, GA, sisters, Kathrine Amann, Carolyn Sue Robinson, Jeanette Holbrook all of Circleville, OH, Doris Ann Imel, Urbaba, OH, Betty Lou Steele, Okeechobee, FL, Linda Lou Chaffin, Kingston, OH, grandchildren, Micki Williams, Leighanna Murphree, Sara Marie Williams, Aja Adams, Tripp Adams, Dawn Adams, Justin Adams, Haley Hunt, Trista Leigh Hunt, Mercedes Karst and three great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Leesburg  Methodist Church.
