Mary Tyson Ebbers

Mary Tyson Ebbers, 82, of Leesburg, died Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The family had a private mass at St. Teresa’s.

Born In Kenosha, WI, Mrs. Ebbers had lived in Leesburg for the last 15 years. She was a retired real estate agent working in Milledgeville, GA and was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, Thomas J. Ebbers, Heather Sheppard Blackstone (Jim), Charles (Chuck) Partrick Ebbers, grandchildren, Ashley Mariah Kersey, David Alan Sheppard (Chelsea), Madison Susan Couch (Lee), Hailey Elizabeth Ebbers (John Henderson), great grandson Asher David Kersey, her siblings, Kathleen Hines, Particia Tyson, Celia Kelley (Glenn), Rita Walters, (Tom), Margaret Dinkel (Herb), John Tyson (Brenda), Thomas Tyson, Joseph Tyson (Lynell), Bernadette Houge (Steve), Eileen Gravunder (Paul) and her four legged friend BB.

To her children, Mary was more than a mother—she was our safe place, our greatest teacher, and our dearest friend. She taught us to stay strong through life’s hardships, to keep smiling even during difficult days, and to trust that God would always carry us through. By the way she lived, she showed us what a loving, faithful marriage looked like and what it meant to love another person with unwavering devotion.

Some of our most treasured memories are the simplest ones. We loved watching The Andy Griffith Show together, and she would read Little House on the Prairie to us, filling our hearts with stories we still cherish. With love and imagination, she once turned an ordinary cardboard box into a Barbie dollhouse, teaching us that the greatest gifts are made with time, creativity, and love. We shared her love of birds and animals and learned from her to appreciate the beauty in God’s creation.

She was an amazing mother whose love shaped our lives in countless ways. The lessons she taught us, the faith she lived, and the love she gave so freely will remain with us always. We will miss her every day, but we are forever grateful to have been blessed to call her Mom.
