Mary Lue Daniels

Mary Lue Daniels, 70, of Albany, GA, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. A private committal will be held at Leesburg Cemetery.

Mary Lue was born on June 7, 1956, in the back of her parents car on the way to the hospital. She was baptized at Acree Baptist Church, grew up in Sylvester, GA and graduated from Worth County High School. Mary Lue moved to Albany, GA after high school and was employed with M&M Mars for thirty-five years. Mary Lue was a member of The Loyal Order of The Moose # 1285, loved bowling, volleyball and the beach.

In addition to her parents, John Lee and Katie Lois McDonald, she was preceded in death by a son, Lee “Rooster” Etheridge and her husband, Joseph Jay Daniels, Sr.

Survivors include her son, Casey (Amber Griffin) Etheridge of Lee County, GA, her granddaughter, Jordan Lee Skates of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, her stepchildren, Jay Daniels of Winslow, AZ and Jessie (Chris) Grant of Albany, GA and her siblings, Wayne (Sheryl) McDonald of Douglasville, GA, Warren (Kathy) McDonald of St. Augustine, FL and Martha Sue (Jeff) Sargent of Lee County, GA.

Family and friends will gather at Jeff & Sue’s home at 807 Middle Road in Lee County, beginning Wednesday afternoon to remember Lue.
