Marvin Lott

Marvin Lott, 86, of Sylvester, GA passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving wife of forty one years and his family. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Doe Hill Rd., Sylvester, GA, 31791. Rev. Bruce Gordon will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany, GA.

Born in Willacoochee, GA, Mr. Lott loved the Lord and going to church when he was able. He was the owner of Barbara Lott's Cakes. Baking and fishing were his passion. Many great memories were made with family and friends on the St. John River in Florida. He was affectionately known as the Bear Claw Man.

He loved to cook and experiment with new ideas. Everybody knowns Marvin and he has some tall tales to talk about. He loved to work in the yard and keep it perfect. He was not one to sit still and he did not meet a stranger. He owned Lott's Imports and his favorite thing was decorating all of the Christmas reindeer and so much more.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walton Lott and Mamie Graves Lott, a son, David Wrotten Lott and eight brothers and sisters. 

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Carol Lott, Sylvester, GA, son, Stephen Calvin Lott, Marietta, GA, Marvin James Lott (Amanda Maurine), Sylvester, GA, Matthew David Lott (Gerri), Sylvester, GA, daughter, Jennifer Marie Bramlett, (Budd), Albany, GA, sisters, Lois Tucker, Albany, GA, Lillian Carver, Douglas, GA, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
