Martin Jeremy Lynch, 53, of Albany passed away suddenly of a stroke on November 21, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, at Mathew’s Funeral Home, with visitation immediately following the service. A private interment will follow at a later date.

Jeremy was born on September 11, 1972, in Griffin, Georgia, the son of Wesley Lynch and Jackie Martin Lynch (now Holloman). He grew up in Milner, Georgia. He was a member of the Lamar County Comprehensive High School Class of 1991, serving as class president in his freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years. He was the salutatorian of his class.

Following high school, he attended Gordon College and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in History in 1993.During that time he was actively involved with the Lamar County American Legion baseball team. He was awarded several scholarships towards his education including the Ty Cobb Scholarship. Jeremy was a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in English and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He completed his Juris Doctor degree through the University of Georgia School of Law in 1998 and passed the bar exam soon after.

Jeremy began practicing with the Divine and Dorough law firm in Albany in 1998. He later was a partner in the Black, Custer and Lynch firm, and eventually had his own firm. Jeremy’s areas of practice included real estate, estate planning and corporate law. He was a member of the Albany and Georgia Bar Association and the Georgia Bulldog Club.

Jeremy was a self-proclaimed bird nerd and animal lover. He enjoyed traveling with his family—as the “man behind the camera”, going to concerts—especially his beloved R.E.M.— watching NASCAR and cheering on the Dawgs. He was an engaging storyteller who could captivate a room full of people. His absolute favorite thing was spending time with his daughters, Sydney and Flannery.

Jeremy is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jackson Martin of Milner, GA; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clomer Lynch of Jackson, GA; and his father, Wesley Lynch of Milner, GA. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Sydney Whaley Lynch and Flannery Martin Lynch of Columbia, SC; the mother of his children, Holly Hudgens Lynch, also of Columbia; parents Mr. and Mrs. Ken Holloman of Milner, GA; sisters Carla Carreker of Barnesville, GA, and Lisa Cumbie of Milner, GA; his niece and nephews Jared, Justin, Katie, and Evan; as well as many extended family members.

The family requests that those who wish to make memorials do so to the Albany Humane Society or their local No-Kill Animal Shelter.
