Marion J. Everett, 80, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Albany and Macon, died Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. 

His funeral service will be Thursday, 11 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Ross Powell will officiate. 

A native of Savannah, Mr. Everett was a graduate of Savannah High School, and served in the U. S. Airforce after graduation.  After leaving the Air Force, Mr. Everett began a career with Western Electric, which would end up being part of AT&T, where he worked as a technician for over 30 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. 

Grampa or Bumpa as he was known to his grandchildren was a lover and collector of model trains, stain glass, wood working and was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Macon where he sang in the choir. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Everett and a son Randy Smith. 

Survivors include his children, Cindy Whitaker (Mike), Jeff Everett (Inga) grandchildren, Amy Smith (Rodney), Grant Whitaker (Ashley), Kelsey Moore (Matt), Pierce Everett, Sarah Grace Everett, Dylan Everett, great grandchildren, Audrey Jane Smith, Evan Smith, Jack Whitaker and Summer Whitaker. 

The family will receive friends following the service.
