Luther Harrison Wrenn

Luther Harrison Wrenn, 87, of Albany, GA, died May 12, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dr. William F. (Biff) Coker will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the parlor at the church. Interment will follow Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Paint Lick Cemetery in Paint Lick, KY.

A native of Paint Lick, KY, Mr. Wrenn had resided in Albany, GA for the past thirty one years moving from Franklin, IN. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served both in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatre and then graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY, where he lettered in baseball all four years.

Mr. Wrenn was employed with Continental Insurance Company for sixteen years and served as a field representative for Auto Owners Insurance Company for twenty years. He was a former high school teacher and coach as well as a little league baseball coach. He was active in the YMCA and was a former state racquetball champion in his age group.

Mr. Wrenn was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder Emeritus. He formerly served as a member of a Presbytery Committee; Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee and participated on several mission trips.

Survivors include his wife, Cecil L. Wrenn of Albany, GA, two daughters, Harriet Henry and her husband, David of Franklin, IN and Sue Ann Baldwin of Altamonte, FL; a son, Luke Wren and his wife, Angel of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Bertha Mae McQuerry of Paint Lick, KY; seven grandchildren: Russ Henry, Angle Schoolcraft, Emily Dykstra, Adam Baldwin, Matthew Wrenn, Taylor Wrenn, Caitlyn Wrenn and nine great-grandchildren.
