Lucius M. "Mac" Amburn, Sr.

Lucius M. “Mac” Amburn, Sr., 78, of Albany, GA, died October 11, 2022 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.  Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.  Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Amburn was born on October 10, 1944 in Mineral Bluff, GA to Lucius and Elta Amburn.  He grew up in Lenoir City, TN and graduated from Lenoir City High School.  Mr. Amburn and his wife Terry and their children moved to Albany, GA in 1968. 

He was employed with Bell South for thirty-seven years and retired in 2005.  Mr. Amburn was Baptist by faith, was a member of the CWA Union, The Telephone Pioneers and a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dee Anne Castleberry, and his brother, Louis Amburn.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Amburn of Albany, GA, a son, Mickey (Jo) Amburn of Worth County, GA, his siblings, James Amburn, Roberta Coley both of Lenoir City, TN, Carolyn Deaton of Baxter, TN, his grandchildren, Kip Chafin of Worth Co, GA, Jay (Kristin) Chafin of Sterling, CO, Blake (Jennifer) Castleberry of Lee County, GA, Kinney (Danielle) Amburn of Baconton, GA, Nick (Ashly) Castleberry of Lee County, GA and Reed Castleberry of Albany, GA and his great-grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Kylee, Harper, Olivia, Lee, Logan, Dayton, Noah and on the way, Sydney.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
