Loy Michele Prothro, 39, of Albany, GA, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, October 20, 2022.  Funeral services will be held Saturday October 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.  Pastor Bill Parker will officiate.  The family will receive  friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Loy was born on August 20, 1983 in Albany to Mike and Donna Loosier.  She was the most beautiful person inside and out.  She radiated with love and brightness in her life.  Loy brought so much love and kindness into the world throughout her life, always caring, loving and sharing the Word of the Lord every day. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany.  Loy had the best bubbly personality and brightened everyone’s day through her smile and kindness.

Loy loved her children, Alyssa and Ansley more than anything in the world and prayed for her babies that she loved so much.  Knowing Loy was knowing the love, kindness and brightness she brought into the world.

Loy attended Westover High School and graduated from Albany Technical College with degrees in Medical Business Technology, Billing, Front Office Assistant, Administration, Management and Supervision.  She was an accomplished pianist, amateur guitarist and excelled in writing poetry.  Her hobbies included Reading and Studying the Bible, painting, decorating her home, running, jogging, canoeing and fishing on the Kinchafoonee and Muckalee Creeks. She had just began taking up the game of Golf which when practicing, Jimmy had to retrieve the balls, LOL.  Loy cooked healthy meals that were absolutely delicious, especially her salads.

Last but certainly not least, one of Loy’s passions were was her love and kindness for stray animals, which she saved and helped so many including her cat “Lemmy Loo”.  Lemmy Loo and Loy were best friends and bonded and loved each other so much.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy, daughters, Alyssa and Ansley, her dad, Mike (Lori Anne), her siblings, Jonathan, Layla and Michael, her stepson, Matt (Casey), step grandson, Conner, and her cat, Lemmy Loo.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Oscar and Thomas, her mother, Donna and her grandparents, Oscar and Elizabeth Looiser.

The family is gathering at the home of Jim and Vickie Prothro, 3202 Trowbridge Road, Albany, GA, 31721.  All are welcome.
