Louise "Lou" Kent

Louise (Lou) Kent of Albany, GA died Monday, September 22, 2025 at her home. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at Floral Memory Gardens.

She was a retired Bookkeeper and Real Estate Sales person. Born in Baker County, GA to Walter Johnson and Nancy Grimes Johnson, she attended Bethany School, Elmodel High School in Baker County and Albany High School. She was an outstanding basketball player. She attended Perry Business College and majored in College Accounting and Business Law.

Her hobbies were photography and walking. Walking was her “quiet time with the Lord.” She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher and choir member.

She loved people, having worked with and around people all of her 69 year working career. Her last 12 years of employment was with Mathews Funeral Home.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Griffin-Rogers (Tom), three grandchildren, Tisha Glover (Dillard), Tracy Lee (Fred), and Frank Griffin, Jr. (Carmie), several great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren,  and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Wiley Kent, a son, James Bartlett, a sister Ruby Woodard, three brothers, Raleigh Johnson, J.D. Johnson, Harvey “Pee Wee” Johnson and a sister Lorene DeLisle.
