Lottie Ree "Rita" Musgrove Kennington

Lottie Ree "Rita" Musgrove Kennington, 86, of Newton Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Willson Hospice House. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.

Rita was born on June 1, 1937, in Leslie, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Othar Nathaniel and Jeanette Isabell Pritchard. Rita greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones. She cherished the moments shared with her family and friends. It brought her immense joy to watch her children and grandchildren grow into remarkable individuals. 

She took great delight in various hobbies. She had a green thumb when it came to gardening and could often be found tending to the flowers in her yard. Cooking was another passion that consumed her heart. Her homemade meals brought people together, creating cherished memories around the dinner table. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Grover "Doc" Kennington.

Survivors include her children, Allen Musgrove (Jody) of Baker Co., Jeanette "Jenny" Schultz (Tony) of Lee Co., and Vernon "Bubba" Musgrove (Doris Ann) of Baker Co., her adoring grandchildren: Martha Carrie Bryant (David), Vernon "Snow" Musgrove (Jamie), and Gene Schultz (Kelsea), and  seven great-grandchildren and her siblings, Myrtle Herft (Noel) of Yorba Linda, CA, and Jean Bergman (Jay) of Newport NC, two step-daughters, Lynn and Tillie.
