Leonie Pauline Reichel Hamlin

Leonie Reichel "Sue" (Luther) Hamlin, 95, of Leesburg, died Thursday, September 22, 2022 at The Phoenix of Albany.  

A private family service will be held at a later date.

A native of Germany, Mrs. Hamlin had lived in the United States most of her life.  She along with her first husband, Clinton Luther, moved to Albany in 1963.  She went to work at MCLB where she retired from with over 30 years of service. 

She was past Worthy Matron of the now defunct Albany Chapter 450 Order of The Eastern Star, and now affiliated with Crepe Myrtle Chapter 163, Emeritus Member of The Eastern Star.

Sue was also an avid Bridge Player, belonging to many groups.

She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, preceded in death by Clinton Luther, second husband Curtis Hamlin.

Survivors include her daughters, Ginger Carder (Ken), Leesburg, Dottie Van de Laar (Don), (Jacksonville, Fl), grandchildren, Kurt Hunter(Dana), Carla Ortiz(Giovanni) Clint Carder (Margie), Courtney Paulson(Dan), great grandchildren, Miranda Ortiz, Giovanni Ortiz, Isabella Ortiz, Anna Hunter, Ryan Hunter, Christian Sain, Griffin Carder, Talley Carder, Makenna Fisher, Connor Paulson.
