Larry Thomas " Tommy" Sims, Jr.

Larry Thomas “Tommy” Sims, Jr., 68, of Lee County, died Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Mathews Funeral Home.

In his younger years he enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting and camping, and riding motorcycles. He was a graduate of Riverview Academy, class of 1975. Tommy spent many years working in the construction industry. He supervised roofing crews locally and traveled to Florida several times working insurance claims for hurricane damage.

After the construction years he was able to travel all over the country delivering freight. He loved vacations with his family especially at the beach.

Tommy (Some friends called him Larry) enjoyed hanging out with friends and enjoying a good band. He enjoyed the music. What he Loved the most was his Marie and His Mallory!

Tommy was predeceased by his parents Larry and Pauline Sims and by his wife Marie Salter Sims. He and Marie were married for forty years.

He is survived by his daughter Mallory Tyre (Marshall) brother Joey Sims (Connie), sister Lisa Anderson (Robert) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
