Larry Dee Bessey, 75, of Dawson, GA, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Mr. Besseyâs airplane hangar, 130 Air Strip Road Dawson, GA. Mr. Joe Collier will officiate.
Larry was born in Olean, New York and moved to Wyoming as a young boy and later moved to Dawson, GA. Mr. Bessey was a talented artist, pilot, craftsman in wood work and metal, and was gifted at anything he set his mind to. Larry invented and built a tool he called the âFeatherollâ. He was a retired electrical contractor and owner of Phase III Electric and had his own home repair company, Bessey Builds It. Mr. Bessey was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Sherwood Baptist Church and the Living Word Sunday School class. He was preceded in death by his parents Milford and Josephine Bessey and children, Tonya Bessey, Brian Bessey, Kyle Holton and Kermit Holton.
Survivors include his wife Pat Bessey of Dawson, GA, two daughters, Brenda Wells of Irving, TX, and Kris Wilson of Tampa, FL, twelve grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
