Kathy Lee Baron Bullock

Kathy Lee Barron Bullock, 74, of Albany, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. A private service will be held by the family.

Kathy was born in Columbus, Georgia, on March 3, 1952, to the late James Owen Barron and Ammy Polk Barron. She spent most of her life caring for others and operated a childcare in her home for many years. Caring for children was more than a job to Kathy—it was something she truly loved. Her home was always a welcoming place, and her door was open to everyone.

Kathy had a loving and giving spirit and was known for making sure everyone felt welcome. She loved to cook and took great pride in preparing meals for her family and friends. If you ever told Kathy that you didn't like something, she was determined to make sure you at least tried it. Her love was often expressed through a home-cooked meal and a seat at her table.

She enjoyed crocheting, watching game shows on television, and decorating her home for Christmas. Christmas was especially meaningful to Kathy, and she loved filling her home with decorations and making the season special for those around her. If you asked Kathy a question, you could always count on getting an honest answer. She was a woman who spoke her mind, loved deeply, and cared greatly for the people in her life.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Eddie W. Bullock, Jr.;  her granddaughter, Gabrielle Grace; and her brother James O. Barron, Jr.  

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Eddie W. Bullock, Sr., of Albany; her daughter, Tina B. McQuiston and her husband John of Albany; her daughter-in-law, Angel M. Bullock of Albany; grandchildren, Samantha Schryver, Raven Bullock, Kalissa Bullock, and Trinity Bullock; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Riley, Abel, Delilah, and Zyir; and her sisters, Betty Rowell of Lee County and Mary Finch (Butch) of Centerville, Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
