Julian “Skip” Leonard Peek, III., 75, of Lee County, GA, died Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Philema Road Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. Johnny White will officiate.
Skip was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Julian and Mary Peek, Jr. He worked as a salesman for Transpower for over thirty-five years. Often recalling part numbers faster than the computer system, Skip was a dedicated hard worker known for his remarkable memory. He cherished his wife and adored his family. Skip was an avid music lover and played with several groups around Atlanta. For the past 25 years he played rhythm guitar and hauled equipment for the bluegrass gospel band, Made From Scratch. He was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan, could quote every Andy Griffith episode, and enjoyed farm life.
Above all else, he was a devoted Christian who read his Bible completely on multiple occasions. He loved his Creator and had a servant’s heart. Skip was a faithful member of Philema Road Baptist Church for over 30 years where he worked and served in several positions. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Amanda Cook.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Peek, his children, Holly Peek, Chris Peek (Sarah), April Sapp (Brian) and Ashley Eschmann (Ted), son in law Bobby Cook, his sister, Tanya Peek and his grandchildren, Brice, Peyton, Carson, Daisy, Max, Kate, Joseph, Addison and Faith.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
