Judy Ann Tompkins

Judy Ann Tompkins, 76, of Lee County, GA, died Monday, March 20, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Leesburg Cemetery. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

Judy was born in Moultrie, GA on July 22, 1946 to the late Paul and Bernice Allman Hiers. She worked for Delco Remy producing alternators for General Motors and after twenty years she retired. Mrs. Tompkins was a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves, she loved to cook and enjoyed going to the beach, she often enjoyed watching Gunsmoke on T.V. But most of all she deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Gina M. Hayes, her siblings, Jay Hiers, Jan Hiers, and John Hiers.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Herschel Tompkins, her children, Bryan Tompkins (Jennifer) of Lee, Co, Eric Tompkins (Shannon) of Panama City Beach FL, Anna Wilson (David) of Lee, Co., her grandchildren, Brandon Tompkins of Jacksonville FL, Sinjin Hayes of Albany, GA, Cameron Tompkins (Ellie) of Leesburg, GA, Lindsay Carr (Josh) of Leesburg, GA, Dillon Tompkins of St. Louis, MO, Dean Tompkins of Atlanta GA, Brianna Wilson of Lee Co, Ansley Carlton (Gabe) of Panama City Beach FL, Chloe Hayes of  Lee Co., Colyn Wilson of Lee Co., Tyler Lewis, USAF, Peyton Tompkins of Panama City Beach, FL, Sally Lewis of Tifton, GA, and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Carr, Silas Carr, Braxton Shumate, her siblings, Jimmy Hiers, Jeannette Flores, Joyce Blaylock, Jerry Hiers.   

The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 am until the funeral hour.
