Joshua D. Bolton

Joshua Dan Bolton, 36, died on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

A native of Dawson, Josh was born September 20, 1987.  He grew up attending Enterprise Baptist Church in Richland, GA and loved reminiscing about childhood shenanigans at the church.  From knowing which sweet grey-haired ladies always had candy in their purse, to performing in skits and programs, those memories and the people there were very dear to him.

Josh attended Terrell Academy graduating in 2005. After graduation, Josh pursued his passion for firefighting working with the Dawson Fire Department and Parrott Volunteer Fire Department. He also worked with Kennedy Satellite installing satellites all over Southwest GA.  Anyone who rode with Josh could expect frequent updates as he pointed out which satellites he had installed. He later spent time with his brother Jess and father Dan building and restoring barns in the tristate area.

A true Southern gentleman, Josh loved and was easy to love!  His children, Aiden and James were his joy! 

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14th from 5:00pm - 6:00pm at Mathew’s Funeral Home in Albany. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15th at 10:00 am at Elmodel Presbyterian Church in Elmodel, GA, with interment following at the Morgan-Hudgins Cemetery.

Josh is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Sanders Bolton, two sons Aiden and James, his parents Dan and Lynn Lawrence Bolton, and brother Jesse Bolton (Beth), Nieces: Abigail, Ella, and Aubrey Bolton, and Morgan Van Landingham, nephews: Wyatt Van Landingham, Jack and Colin Cantrell.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles & Lorene Lawrence and paternal grandparents David and Dorothy Bolton.
