Joseph Pryor Durham, Jr.

Joseph P. “Joe, Jr.” Durham, Jr., 48, of Lee County, GA, passed away March 4, 2026 at Emory University Hospital on Clifton Road in Atlanta, GA. A memorial graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson, GA. Mac Wilcox will officiate.

Joe was born on February 28, 1978 in Dawson, GA to Joe Sr. and Penny Durham. He grew up in Dawson and graduated from Terrell Academy in 1996 where he excelled in football and basketball. Joe graduated from Valdosta State University where he was a member of The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and received his Juris Doctor Degree from Mercer University.

After Mercer University, Joe returned to Albany, GA to practice law and was employed with Langley and Lee Law Firm. Joe opened up his own Personal Injury Law Firm in 2018.

Joe was a member of Dawson Presbyterian Church and enjoyed planting, attending to and harvesting fruit trees. He was a deer hunter and an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. He loved his dogs, three Labrador Retrievers and one Boykin Spaniel. Joe also was a tournament level bass fisherman and loved music.

Survivors include his triplet sons, Joseph P. Durham, III of Cordele, GA, Dalton Durham of Cordele, GA and Camden Durham of Cordele, GA, his parents, Joe Sr. and Penny Durham and his companion, Mel Rahm of Sylvester, GA.

The family will be glad to visit at the graveside following the service.
