John Arthur Albritton

John Arthur Albritton, 73, of Cobb, GA, died March 24, 2023 at his residence.  Memorial services will be held Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home with Military Honors.  Rev Mark Bullock will officiate.

John was born on April 19, 1949 in Americus, GA to the late Walter and Mildred Albritton.  He graduated from Americus High School in 1966, ABAC in 1968 and joined the United States Navy where he served four years before being honorably discharged.

John was employed with Gold Kist in Tifton, GA and moved to Albany from Moultrie, GA in 1970 and was the manager of Gold Kist in Albany.  He was employed with and managed Bennett’s Farm Supply for thirty-five years and was last employed with Plantation Supply.

John was an Eagle Scout, an avid quail hunter and dog trainer. He was a great cook and loved to garden. He lived for his grandchildren and enjoyed teaching them to fish. He was preceded in death by a sister, Millie Albritton.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Albritton of Cobb, GA, three children, Steve Willis of Lee County, GA, Michael (Christie) Willis of Albany, GA and Christina (Ryan) Davis of Lee County, GA, his mother-in-law, Carolyn Hayes of Leesburg, GA, four siblings, Walt (Cheryl) Albritton of Albany, GA, Gay Moncrief of Jackson, GA, Ann (John) Brown of Americus, GA and Alicia (Wayne) Achey of Americus, GA and seven grandchildren, Kaylie Willis, Addyson Willis, Hayden Davis, Ethan Davis, Ashton Willis, Brady Willis and Briley Willis and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
