Jimmy Lamar (Jim) Adams

Jimmy Lamar (Jim) Adams, of Leesburg, GA, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Tony Haefs will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Colquitt, GA, Mr. Adams grew up in Decatur County, GA and moved to Albany, GA in 1954, after being discharged from the Army. He retired as Vice President of Consolidated Loan and Mortgage Company. Mr. Adams was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church, where he was the former chairman of the ushers and was a member of the Micah Sunday School Class. Mr. Adams was a former member of the Albany J.C.'s, the Albany Civitan Club and he received the Civitan of The Year Award. He was also a member of Stonebridge Golf and Country Club and had four Hole In Ones during his golfing days.

Survivors include two children, a son, Jimbo Adams of Lee County, GA and a daughter, Lindi Adams (Carey Watson) of Worth County, GA, a sister, Lelia Mae Adams of Perry, FL and two brothers, Buck Adams of Sale City, GA and Mike (Bubba) Adams of Wellington, OH and two grandchildren, Alyson Adams and Abby Adams.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.
