Jeffrey Ray "Jeff" Heath, Sr.

Jeffrey R. “Jeff” Heath, Sr. (GySGT, USMC, Ret.), 65, of Lee County, GA, died May 31, 2023 at Willson Hospice House surrounded by his family.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Andersonville National Cemetery.  Rev. Ray Levreault will officiate.  Military Honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps and The American Legion.

 

Jeff was born in Columbus, OH on October 28, 1957.  He grew up there and graduated from Northland High School in 1975.  After high school, Jeff joined the United States Marine Corps and served over twenty years with tours in Japan, Germany, and was a Drill Instructor at Parris Island, SC.  The Marine Corps Logistic Base was his last duty station and he retired in 1997.

 

After his service, Jeff was employed with Raytheon Technologies as a Senior Contract Negotiator.  He was a proud Roman Catholic, loved watching golf, and was avid fan of The Ohio State Football Team.

 

He was preceded in death by Bradford Cook who raised him, survivors include his mother, Louella Newsome of Dublin, OH, his children, Eric (Hope) Heath of Sumter, SC, Stephen (Ally) Heath of Lee County, GA, Ty Heath of Jacksonville, FL, Jeffrey R. Heath, Jr of Leesburg, GA, Kaniesha Clark of Warner Robins, GA and Brittany Heath of Jacksonville, FL, his siblings, Mike Heath of Columbus, OH, Marc (Amy) Heath of Columbus, OH, Shay (Chris) Northup of Dublin, OH and Kristi Combs of Portland, OR and his grandchildren, Chazen Heath, Madalynn Heath, Elliott Heath and Maisie Heath.
