Jason Kyle Story, 44, of Lee County, Georgia, passed away on January 11, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Mathews Funeral Home, with Mr. Ross Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Leesburg Cemetery.
Jason was born on September 3, 1981, in Albany, Georgia, and was a lifelong resident of Lee County. He was a 1999 graduate of Lee County High School, where he played baseball. He was employed with Procter & Gamble.
Above all else, Jason loved his son, Kale, more than anything in this world. Being Kale’s father was his greatest joy. He loved taking him places, spending time with him, supporting him, and proudly watching him play all sports. Jason cherished every moment they spent together.
Jason had a deep love for the outdoors and fishing. You could almost always find him with a fishing pole in his hand, no matter the size of the water or the temperature in the air. He enjoyed both bass fishing and deep-sea fishing, finding peace and happiness on the water.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lum E. Story, Jr.; his grandparents, Kyle and Lillie Watson; his grandparents, Lum E. Sr and Hilda Story; his sister, April Nicole Weekley.
Jason is survived by his loving mother, Cindy Story of Lee County, Georgia; his son, Kale Story of Columbus, Georgia; a sister, Angel Tucker Harrington and two nephews, Kyler Weekley of Lee County, Georgia, and Chandler Weekley of Shreveport, Louisiana, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins and his best friend Jason Rodriguez.
Jason leaves behind friends and a large, loving family who will miss him deeply. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and, most especially, through the love he shared with his son.
