Janice Lanelle Davidson OdomOctober 31, 1938 – August 8, 2026J  anice Lanelle Davidson Odom, 87, formerly of Dawson, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Dawson, with Reverend Jim Eubanks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Lanelle was born on October 31, 1938, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Cleo “Boog” Davidson and Mabel Davidson.  As a young child, her family moved to Dawson, where she was raised and graduated from Terrell County High School. Following graduation, Lanelle began her career with The Albany Herald before joining the Bank of Terrell (now GCB Bank), where she faithfully served for 38 years until her retirement. She was admired for her dedication, kindness, and unwavering work ethic. A woman of deep faith, Lanelle was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Dawson for many years. She especially cherished her Mary Martha Sunday School Class and the friendships and fellowship she enjoyed there.

Lanelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Dennis Odom, Sr.; her parents, Cleo “Boog” Davidson and Mabel Davidson; and her brother, Rondall Davidson.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Dennis Odom, Jr. (Beverly) of Alpharetta, Georgia; her daughter, Deborah Odom Eubanks (Jim) of Sumter County, Georgia; her sister, Gail Lawrence of Americus, Georgia; her grandchildren, Staff Sergeant Logan Eubanks of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Miranda Odom of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Jared Odom of Alpharetta, Georgia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Magnolia Manor Nursing Center and Georgia Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and support shown to Lanelle throughout her illness.
