Born in Albany, Georgia, Janice was educated in the Dougherty County School System and graduated from Westover High School. She spent her life rooted in the community she loved, dedicating herself to both family and service. Janice built a long and varied career, working with many different companies around the area where she served faithfully as a bookkeeper and payroll coordinator. Her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and dependability were hallmarks of everything she did.
Janice was a woman of deep faith. She worshiped at Grace City Church and was actively involved in the Porterfield Women’s Ministry. She found great joy in helping others and was always eager to participate in service projects, quietly giving her time and heart wherever it was needed.
Above all else, Janice loved her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her greatest pride was found in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She also shared a special bond with the father of her children and lifelong best friend, Jerry Dollar. Rarely seen without her loyal dachshund, Dash, Janice cherished the simple comforts of companionship, laughter, and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Grady Stewart and Evelyn Florence White Stewart, and her sisters, Donna Stewart Scozzari and Laura Kay Stewart Simmons Musgrove.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Dollar Najjar (Tony) of Albany, Georgia, and Jeremy Bryan Dollar (Stacie Porter Brown) of Leesburg, Georgia; her grandchildren, Aiden Gage Dollar, Rigby Banks Brown, Joseph Oliver Najjar, and Alexander Henry Najjar; the father of her children and best friend, Jerry Dollar of Albany, Georgia; and her beloved dachshund, Dash.
Janice will be remembered for her gentle spirit, servant’s heart, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with kindness, faith, and grace.
