Janet Byars

Janet Byars, 67, of Lee County, died, Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at her home.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 31, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.

Born in Salt Lake City, UT, Janet lived in the Albany Area most of her life. She was a retired teacher, teaching Economics in the Dougherty and Lee County School Systems. She loved to read, watch old movies, collect items for decorating her home and was an excellent cook.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Greg Byars, brother, Michael Chipman, mother and father in law, Margaret and Dan Owens, and her loving dog Phoebe.
