James Edwin ( Jim) Hinson

James Edwin (Jim) Hinson, 68, of Leesburg, GA, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. The Albany Police Department honor guard will provide honors.

Born in Macon, GA, Mr. Hinson had resided in Albany, Georgia since 1968 before moving to Leesburg, GA. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Air Force and retired from the Albany Police Department in 2002. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, The Peace Officers Association, Loyal Order of Moose and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Benjamin Hinson and Eloise Gordon Hinson and three sisters, Linda Stokes, Brenda Ann Todd and Betty Faye Yancey.

Survivors include his best friend, Johnny E. Davis, Sr. (Vickie), Albany, GA, step-mother, Louise Hinson three brothers, Mitchell Hinson (Belinda), Michael Hinson and Ronnie Hinson (Vickie), three sisters, Wylene Hinson McElheney, Patsy Hinson Houston, Diane Hinson and many nieces and nephews all of Macon, GA.
