James William "Buddy" Ellerbee

James William “Buddy” Ellerbee, 64, of Worth County, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, AL. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 1, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.

Buddy was born in Altus, Ok on December 28, 1961 to the late Royce and Anita Morrison Ellerbee. His father served in The United States Air Force and when he was eleven years old, his family moved to Albany, GA where his family was originally from.

Buddy grew up and graduated from Dougherty High School and attended Albany Votech. He was employed with Procter and Gamble for twenty four years and owned and operated Carter Fire Extinguishers before retiring in 2021.

Buddy was a member of The Loyal Order of The Moose # 1285 and enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting and spending time at the beach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby “Bo” Ellerbee.

Survivors include his sons, Brandon (Ashley) Ellerbee of Dothan, AL and Will Ellerbee of Acworth, GA and a granddaughter, Margot Ellerbee.
