James "Bruce" Goodwin

James “Bruce” Goodwin, 87, of Albany, GA, died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Wynfield Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Beacon Baptist Church.  Rev. Jim Eubanks will officiate.  Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.  If attending, please wear a mask or a mask will be provided, social distancing is required.

Mr. Goodwin was born on January 1, 1933 in Anderson City, GA to Roy and Ibbie Ethal Goodwin.  He was raised in Albany, GA and graduated from Albany High School in 1950.  Mr. Goodwin was employed with Albany Foods, now W.J. Powell Company for twenty years.

He also worked at Magnolia Street Grocery and Abbotts Grocery for fifteen years.  Mr. Goodwin was a faithful member of Beacon Baptist Church and enjoyed watching NASCAR, collecting racing memorabilia and watching wrestling, especially, Dusty Rhodes.

Survivors include his wife, Effie Goodwin of Albany, GA, his children, Becky (Allen) Short of Albany, GA, Sherry (Jeff) Swift of Lee County, GA, Jimmy (Yvette) Goodwin and Louie (Pam) Goodwin all of Albany, GA, a sister, Laverne Letchworth of Lee County, GA, a brother, Warner (Dorothy) Goodwin of Putney, GA, seven grandchildren, Raymond, Kevin, Jennifer, Amanda, Toni, Cole and A.J. and fifteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday at Beacon Baptist Church.
