James Earl Bass

James Earl Bass, 56, of Lee Co., GA passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at his residence. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

He was born in Sumter Co. and graduated from Southland Academy before joining the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked for a time with the U.S. Postal Service. His favorite job he ever had was working along with his father and brothers at Bass Service Station.

James Earl cherished his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was always willing to share his beliefs with others. He loved helping out his fellow man and was always willing to help anyone with a problem. He was always willing to help a person in need; it didn’t matter if you were family, life-long friends or someone he just met in the Lowe’s parking lot. He never wanted anything in return except for the person to pass it on. So, if you knew James Earl or just heard about him, if you want to do something for the family, do a good deed for someone whether you know them or not.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Bass, his brother, Cooper Ray Bass, Jr., and sisters-in-law, Kim Robins and Tammy O’Quinn.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Bass, Lee Co., GA, son, Caleb E. Bass (Savana), Lee Co., GA, daughter, Eva M.
