Gwendolyn Swilley

Gwendolyn Swilley, 96, of Catoosa, OK, formerly of Albany and Leesburg, GA, died Monday, May 27, 2013 at her residence in Catoosa, OK. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethany Methodist Church Cemetery in Pelham, GA.

A native of Camilla, GA, born to the late John Ed and Mary Smith, Mrs. Swilley grew up in Mitchell County and graduated in 1934 from Camilla High School. She retired from Coats and Clark and was preceded in death by her husband Augustus C. Swilley, and a son Lamar Swilley.

Survivors include a son Joe Ed (Rena) Swilley of Las Cruces, NM, two daughters Gwennett Hay of Sylvester, GA, Nancy (Lynn) Harden of Catoosa, OK, a sister Peggy Lee (Dick) Carson of Tulsa, OK, sixteen grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
