Gwen Mayville Lowery

Glenda “Gwen” Mayville Lowery, 78, of Albany, died, Saturday, December 6, 2025 peacefully at her home.

Born and raised in Albany, Mrs. Lowery was a 1965 graduate of Albany High School, retired from AT&T and was employed by Albany Federal Employees Credit Union until 2010. She was a two time breast cancer survivor, loved to work in her garden, make crafts and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she volunteered.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Geneva Mayville and son-in-law Steven "Stevie" Etheridge.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jimmy Lowery, daughter Kim Lowery Etheridge and son Jimmy “Bubba” Lowery, Jr. (Faye), grandchildren, Kelsey Sims (Brandon Covin) and Hunter Etheridge, great grandchildren, Layana, Laniya and Ace ("A.B.") Covin, her sister, Barbara Logan and her four-legged children, Jackie and Jackson.

Those desiring please make donations to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.

Her memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church at a later date.
