Glenda Pritchard Busbee

Glenda Pritchard Busbee, 73 of Albany, GA., died Saturday, August 17, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. David Postlewaite and Rev. Mark Walker will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. 

Glenda was born in Albany, Ga to Glenn and Daisy Pritchard. She graduated from Albany High School in 1969 and went on to earn an Associate’s degree from Albany Junior College. She was employed with Albany Junior College before going on to work at the Georgia Department of Labor where she retired after 34 years of service.

She met the love of her life while in high school and was married for 52 years. They enjoyed traveling the world, visiting the lake, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and was active in teaching children’s Sunday School, Awana and Wiz Kids. She also accompanied the teen group on a mission trip to St. Croix.

She was affectionately known as BMa to her grandchildren and loved to hand create toys and adventures including doll house furniture, a monster truck course, and a tv set to run their own news show even though they were supposed to be home sick from school that day.

She had a passion for painting and enjoyed her art group every Monday. She decorated her home with her artwork that made her house a home. She also enjoyed puzzles, working in the yard, and watching “The Andy Griffith Show”. She had a close group of lifelong friends and always enjoyed her lunches with “the girls.” 

Survivors include her husband, Wyatt L. Busbee, Jr., children, Wyatt L. Busbee, III and his wife, Jennifer, Mexico City, Mexico, Leslie Busbee Miller and her husband Chad all of Albany, GA and grandchildren, Mary Busbee, Ava Busbee, Emma Miller, Will Miller and Miles Miller.

The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the care and support given by her hospice nurses, Barbara and Terri.
