Geraldine S. Brickhouse

Evelyn (Geraldine) Brickhouse, 90, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, October 8, 2023 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth, NC. Private interment will follow in Craddock Family Cemetery, Roper, NC. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother during her incredible 90 years of life.

Geraldine was the daughter of Mittie and Eddie Skittletharpe of Roper, NC. She grew up in Roper and graduated from Roper High School. It was during her high school years that she met the love of her life, Theo J. Brickhouse. After graduation, she would go on to marry Theo and have three children, Candy, Robin, and TJ. They relocated to Albany, GA where Theo was employed with the Marie Corp Logistics Base as a Naval Communications Specialist. They later returned to Roper to live out their retirement years. Upon his passing, Geraldine returned to Albany to be near family.

Geraldine was a lover of all things old, ornate, and beautiful. One of her favorite pass times was antiquing and attending auctions and garage sales in search of the next great treasure. She owned and operated several antique stores through her lifetime in both Albany and Roper. She made many friends in her antique ventures and enjoyed spending time with those that shared her passion for all things old and beautiful.

When Geraldine was not antiquing, she could be found volunteering with Knights of Columbus Bingo group. Whether she was at an antique shop, The Knights of Columbus, or at home, she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. She is survived by her children: Candy Carter (Rick Davis) of Albany, GA, Robin Townsend, TJ Brickhouse both of Gadsden, AL, her grandchildren: Stephanie Rutland, Jacksonville, FL, Jason Carter (Jennifer Carter) of Smithville, GA, TJ Brickhouse, and Samuel Brickhouse both of Albany, GA and great grandchildren: Chandler Rutland, Eli Carter, Oliver Carter, Cole Attell, Gage Philmon and a beloved niece, Rhonda Carr.
