With great sorrow we announce the passing of George W. Willson, who departed this life on Sunday July 20, 2025 at the age of 74. A devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. George lived his life to protect and care for the ones he loved. His ultimate goal in life was to provide for his family with whatever was needed. He also spoiled a few of us.
George was born on September 2, 1950 in TyTy Georgia to the late Dave Wilson and the late Louella Wilson. He was the youngest of three boys. His two older siblings, Robert Wilson and the late Curtis Wilson. The three of them grew up in a small area named Remington, Georgia. They grew up with strong family values rooted in hard work and the protection of their family. Family First is a strong belief within the Wilson Family. George was named after his late uncle George William King. He earned his nickname, Trigger, from his mom because as a child, George loved to watch the Roy Roger Show. He would ride the kitchen broom, that represented the horse trigger, to the rescue just like Roy Rogers.
He worked during his teenage years at Remington Cotton Mill. This is the place where he met his future wife, Sandra Lee. After marriage and two children, George worked at Proctor and Gamble in Albany. During the first years he drove from Remington to Albany and back just to make the money needed for the family. They eventually moved to Albany. George worked at P&G for 27 years retiring in 2006. His work at P&G allowed him to travel aboard and the northern United states to teach others how to work the lines. During this time, George befriended many people and some became lifelong friends. He never met a stranger and was loved by many.
