George Pressley Martin

George Pressley Martin, 84, of Morgan, GA passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Morgan United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Chris Holdrof will officiate.

Born in Conway, SC, Mr. Martin was educated and was a graduate of the public school system Horry County, South Carolina. After graduation he joined the US Army and after his obligated time he was employed with American Cigar and Tobacco. In 1965 he met and married his wife and moved to Albany, GA to manage a Texaco service station. Later he joined Florida Rock and Tank Lines where he retired. He was a member of Rehoboth Bank Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Boyd Martin and Dorothy Ann Martin, a brother, Vernon Martin and Joan Milligan.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Norman Martin, Morgan, GA, a son, Richard Martin, Morgan, GA, a daughter, Amy Martin Walton (Ethan), Cuthbert, GA, brothers, Harvey B. Martin (Genese) and Garland (Glenn) Martin both of Conway, SC, a sister, Marilyn Winger, Charleston, SC, Jared McDonald (Shanena), Shellman, GA and Ethan William Walton, Jr., Cuthbert, GA.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the graveside.
