George Wesley Davenport

George Wesley Davenport of Poulan, GA., died Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at his residence. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Wesley was born in Killeen, TX., to the late Herschel and Jannie Davenport, Sr., Wesley was a mechanic and worked for various companies during his career, such as; Cooper Tire, Potter Motor Company, Little Debbie and MSG. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool and watching westerns and NASCAR. In his younger years he rode bulls in the rodeo. His greatest enjoyment was coin collecting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Davenport and Mike Davenport.

Survivors include his children, Corey Davenport, Amber Giese (Reggie Gilbert), four stepchildren, his grandchildren, Zoey Giese, Katarina Giese, Gabriel Price, Dean Anderson, Dilion Anderson, eight step grandchildren, his siblings, Eydie (Rick) McDaniel of Albany, GA, Richard (Sandra) Davenport of Lee County, GA, Herschel Davenport, Jr of Albany, GA, Robert (Marsha) Davenport of Worth County, GA, and Joey (Andrea) Davenport of Lee County, GA.
