Frank Harvey Heath, Jr.

Frank H. Heath, Jr., 90, of Albany, GA formerly of Floral City, FL, died August 26, 2023 at The Phoenix at Albany.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 2:00 pm at The Walden Chapel of First Methodist Church.  Rev. Jim Morrow will officiate. Internment was at Andersonville National Cemetery.

Mr. Heath was born in Gainesville, FL on July 1, 1933, the only child of Frank and Thelma Heath, Sr.  He grew up on Marco Island, FL and graduated from Naples High School in 1948.  Mr. Heath attended the University of Florida before serving in The United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Heath met the love of his life, Sarah (Sally) Thorp, at the University of Florida and they married in 1957.  He spent his entire career with Florida Power & Light Company as a Systems Analyst.  He was Methodist by Faith, enjoyed yardwork, always had a project, and could fix anything. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, cheering for the University of Florida Gators, being with his pets Wiggles, Mindy and Mau, and working on genealogy and old cars.  Until recently, he was an active volunteer for numerous organizations, including TOO FAR Water & Natural Resources Foundation, Citrus County Community Patrol, Community Emergency Response Team, the Floral City Friends of the Library, the Equinunk Historical Society, the American Legion, and the Floral City Heritage Council.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah (Sally) T. Heath of Albany, GA, his children, Heather Heath, MD, and her husband, David Wall of Palm Harbor, FL and Holly Heath and her husband, Ben Anderson of Albany, GA and five grandchildren, Jennifer Wall, MD, of San Antonio, TX, Brian Wall of Riverview, FL, Sarah Wall, MD, of Branford, CT, Daniel Anderson of Albany, GA, and Robert Anderson of Albany, GA, and two nieces Dale Rouse Waid of Verbena, AL and Diana Rouse of New York State.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorials in memory of Mr. Heath to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
