Frances Novella Reynolds Spell

Frances Novella Reynolds Spell, 88, of Americus, GA, formerly of Albany, Ga, passed away December 12, 2022, at Magnolia Manor.  Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.   Rev. Dr. John Walker will officiate.

Novella Reynolds Spell was born in Worth County on September 2, 1934 to David and Mollie Smith.  She was educated in the Worth County School System and married John W. “Bill” Reynolds in 1951.  They remained married until his passing in 1996.

Novella Reynolds Spell was employed with S.J Curry Company which specialized in construction work for a long period of time before becoming a secretary in the office of Dr. Carl Findley, DMD. She was so fortunate to find her second love of her life, Resin Cass Spell and they married on December 12, 1998. While living in Albany, she was a member of Sherwood Baptist church and later joined Central Baptist Church in Americus once moving there.  In addition to her husband, Bill and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jim Bellamy and a grandson, Michael E. Griffin.  

Survivors include her husband, Cass Spell of Moultrie, GA, her daughters, Judy Reynolds-Cory (Andy) of Shreveport, LA, Jackie Bellamy of Raeford, NC, her brother, Joey Smith (Elizabeth) of Sylvester, GA, her step-children, Sandy Cox, Moultrie, GA, Tim Spell, Daphne, AL, and Eddie Spell (Penny), Panama City Beach, FL, three grandchildren, Brandie Tennyson Blair (Jackson) of Shreveport, LA, Farrah Tennyson Colello of Haughton, LA and Jason William Griffin (Melissa) of Leesburg, GA, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. 

The family will receive friends at Mathews Funeral Home Friday from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
