Emily Mercer Thigpen

Emily Mercer Thigpen, 93, of Duluth, GA died Monday, July 4, 2011 at her daughter's residence in Lawrenceville, GA. The graveside funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Leesburg City Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

A native of Leesburg, GA, Mrs. Thigpen had resided in Metro Atlanta, GA for the past forty four years. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cleveland Thigpen, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Joe Pennington, Lawrenceville, GA, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
