Elzie L. Hancok

Elzie L. Hancock Jr, of Albany, GA, passed away on March 3, 2026 at Willson Hospice House. Private Graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, April 17, 2026 at Crown Hill Cemetery. Stanley Gibson will officiate. 

Elzie was born on May 1, 1958 to Elzie L. Hancock Sr. and Bonnie Jean Etheridge. He grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1976. He was employed in the Automotive parts and owned his own parts store. Later in his life he was employed in the Commercial Building Maintenance with Dougherty County and the State of GA. Elzie enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was an outstanding mechanic and enjoyed restoring vintage Volkswagens.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Gibson Hancock, his sons, Jeremy Hancock and Chris Crittenden, his daughter, Heather Hancock, and sister, Cathy (Don) Salter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kaylee Morgan Hancock, brothers Michael Hancock and Frank Barry, and sister Dorothy Hancock.
