Ellis Lambert Thompson

Ellis Lambert Thompson, 92, of Macon, GA, passed away July 29, 2026 at The Baptist Village-Plantation Suites in Macon, GA. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 31, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Michael Fuller will officiate. A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm followed by a funeral procession to Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

A native of Glennville, GA, born to the late Hershel and Ala Mae Thompson. Mr. Thompson graduated from Glennville High School in 1951, served in The United States Air Force and was a farmer early in his career. He lived in Savannah, GA before moving to Albany, GA in 1977 and was employed as a Detective with Norfolk Southern Railroad until his retirement.

Mr. Thompson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church while he lived in Albany, GA and joined Rock Springs Church when he moved to Macon, GA in 2019. He was Master Mason, a member of Solomons Lodge #1 in Savannah, GA and received his fifty year apron at Dougherty Lodge # 591 in Albany, GA.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Merian “Ann” Thompson, a daughter, Kathy Graham and his siblings, Colvin Thompson, Edsel Thompson, Cherry Strickland and Mary Thompson. Survivors include his son, Robert E. “Bob” Thompson and his wife, Sandra of Macon, GA, his son-in-law, Steve Graham of Winston, GA, his grandchildren, Zack (Kim) of Watkinsville, GA, Adam (Melissa) Graham of Douglasville, GA, Vincent (Lauren) Thompson of Yulee, FL and Clint Thompson of Statesboro, GA and eight great-grandchildren.
