Elizabeth Henry Goodson, 85, of Albany, GA, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 at The Wilson Hospice House. A private graveside service will be held Monday, April 13, 2026, at 11:00 am at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Bart Cannon will officiate.
Mrs. Goodson was born on July 14, 1940 to John William and Myrtle Henry in Colquitt, GA. She graduated from Miller County High School in 1958, where she received the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow Award. She married William Ralph Goodson in 1961 and they moved to Albany, GA. Mrs. Goodson was a member of Central Baptist Church and was employed at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital before working at Havertys Furniture. She was a great cook and enjoyed working in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Alane Goodson, a grandson, Stephen Goodson, her husband, William R. Goodson, Sr., her siblings, Alton Henry, Pauline Gordon, Linda Freeman, Barbara Hatcher, Edith Harris, Mildred Jenkins, Pauline Norris and Jean Burgess.
Survivors include her three children, Debra Goodson Cannon of Albany, GA., John Goodson (Leigh Ann) of Suches, GA., and Billy Goodson (Amy) of Port Allen, LA., a brother, Sherwood Henry (Pat) of Bainbridge, GA., her grandchildren, Bart Cannon (Jessica) of Oneonta, AL., Matt Cannon of Dawson, GA., Julia Ann Goodson of Dallas, TX., Carter Goodson of Baton Rouge, LA., Lee Goodson of Crawfordville, FL., Spencer Goodson (Melissa), Sawyer Goodson (Poleth) and Emma Goodson and her great-grandchildren, Maggie, Marshall, Abigail and J.B.
