Effie Schall Goodwin

Effie was born on December 2, 1939, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, to her parents the late Louis Gilbert and Ethal Maud Schall. Effie was a dedicated and hardworking woman who found joy and fulfillment in her career as the Manager of Krystals. For three decades, she poured her heart and soul into her work. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She had a special bond with each of them and created countless memories that will be treasured forever. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she always put their well-being above everything else.

Effie had a warm and kind-hearted personality that touched the lives of those around her. She had a genuine interest in people and always spoke highly of others. Her positive outlook on life was infectious, spreading happiness wherever she went. Effie's friends were an important part of her life as well. She loved spending time with them playing bunco and bowling with her team "Silver Sneakers." These activities not only brought her joy but also allowed her to forge strong friendships that lasted a lifetime. She was a faithful member of Beacon Baptist Church and served on the hostess committee for the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Louis Schall, Mike Schall, and Charles Schall, and her husband, of forty-seven years, Bruce Goodwin.

Effie is survived by her children: Jimmy Goodwin (Yvette), of Albany, GA, Sherry Goodwin Swift (Jeff), Loui Goodwin (Pam), all of Lee. Co.  Becky Goodwin Short (Allen) of Mitchell Co. Seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and brother Donnie Schall of Pennsylvania.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 23, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
