Dorothy Lee Wynn

Dorothy Lee Wynn passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at the age of 87.

Dot was born in Habersham County, Georgia to Girlie and Cana Frady and grew up on the family farm. After graduating high school, she graduated from the Spartanburg School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She met Lamar Wynn while in nursing school and they were married in 1958, eventually settling in Fitzgerald, Georgia, and raised their children, Lamara and Ellis.

Dot was known for her high standards of professional conduct and ethics and sought to instill those values in others. She had a special love for the elderly and the disabled and worked tirelessly to advocate for their care. She retired in 2009 after a long career to spend time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Following the untimely death of her daughter in 1998, Dot poured her heart into raising Lamara’s children. She loved singing with her sisters and nieces, spending time outdoors and every moment she spent with her grand and great-grandchildren. Her family is grateful for sweet memories of a life well lived.

She is survived by her son Ellis Wynn and his wife Susie of Leesburg, Georgia. Grandchildren Will Freeman (Elizabeth) of Kiln, Mississippi, Crystal Freeman of Valdosta, Georgia, Marina Epstein (Jarred) of Phoenix, Arizonia, Suzanne Butler (Connor) of Valdosta, Georgia, and Lamar Wynn (Kaitie) of Billings, Montana. Great grandchildren Audra and Thomas Freeman, Marlee and Charlotte Epstein, and Ellison and Ava Butler. Special nieces Donna McAuliffe and Renee Swann and a dear friend, Norma Moree.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, her daughter Lamara Lee Wynn, and companion Bob Hallman. Her siblings Fred Frady, James Frady, Gene Frady, Christine Williams, Ruth Littleton, Joyce McLeer and Morris Frady also predecease her.

Private graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Dot’s memory.
